Jennifer graduated from NUS with a 2nd Class (Upper) Honours degree in Information Systems. She was a Systems Analyst at Singtel before pursuing her Master’s degree in Business Systems at Monash University. Her career switch to law was motivated by the nobility of the profession and having witnessed how the efforts of a lawyer is able to bring balance and equality to an otherwise imbalance equation.
Jennifer obtained her law degree from the University of Leicester, UK, with a Second Class (Upper Division) Honours. She scored a distinction in Insolvency Law and Practice in her Part B Course. She did her practice training at Messrs. A.Ang, Seah & Hoe and went on to practise at the firm before joining Messrs. Jenny Lai & Co. Whilst at Messrs. A.Ang, Seah & Hoe, Jennifer advised on sale and lease agreements, contracts, mortgages and matters relating to loans. Her clienteles included government body, society, financial institutions, leasing company and individuals. Jennifer handled real estate transactions and assisted in Strata Title Board hearings and other general litigation cases.
At Messrs. Jenny Lai & Co, Jennifer’s areas of practice include family law, adoption, probate and administration, criminal law and real estate transactions. At Messrs. Jenny Lai & Co, she assisted in cases such as appeal to a court of 3 Judges, mitigation plea, legal aid cases, setting aside of judgements, variation of order of court, creation and registration of easements and many more cases usually involving complex issues. Notwithstanding that she was called to the Bar in 2017, she already has under her belt vast working experience and exposure in the legal profession since her days in University. She is proficient in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and she is able to communicate effectively the legal jargons to the clients.
